Austin Mini 1275cc
Here we have our Austin Mini Mayfair which is our latest purchase. But she is no ordinary Mayfair. She has a 1275cc Mg Metro engine with stage one kit so it goes like stink. She also has Bucket seats to hold you in when the urge to go very fast takes over (on close roads of course!!), and to help you around those corners, it has Hi-Lo adjustable suspension and fat wheels to help you handle. The car is a bit rough around the edges(its had 9 owners!) but if it does not sell in the next few weeks, it will receive the same treatment the Gold 998cc has received . It should be one hot mini then!
Update 25/10/05. Work has started on the mini. We had an engine problem which turned out to be broken gasket between the Carb and the inlet manifold(air leaking in which leaned out the mixture causing uneven idling and poor running). I thought this car was fast..... its a little rocket now its running properly. She is still for sale but i cant resist working on it.
Update 13/11/05. We just cant keep our hands off. the biggest headache on this car was the body work, which didnt look to bad but as you know with minis, there is always something lurking. But to our surprise everything is mostly ok. Any little bodge work to get it through the MOT has been sorted and A-panel has been welded up. We have started now so we might as well continue working on this one and make it into an exceptional Mini.
Update 02/12/05. Well the work on this car is well under way and it looks like we will keep her and do her up. Im not complaining. This mini is FAST. All the body work will be done and ill keep updating this site on the progress. Soon there will be a resto page for this mini.
Update 14/02/06. Work has been steady on the 1275. One side of her has been repaired and sprayed with little to do on the rest of the car. Really cant wait to get her back on the road.
